At Incan World Gifts, we work directly with the Artisans in search of top quality Peruvian handcraft at fair prices. The Peruvian Artisans are completely involved in the imaginative process of their creations and we, as their marketing tool, offer a means of distribution of their unique handmade products. This makes for a beautiful relationship, Incan World Gifts offers the artisans an outlet to sell their Peruvian handcraft online to a broader audience not otherwise accessible to them from their remote villages. In return, we are enriched by the evidence of their ancient culture and tradition in every unique product.
Gourd Art in Peru is a natural resource for Artisans that has been a staple in many societies. Gourds have been cultivated worldwide for thousands of years and are the only fruit bearing plant found to have spanned the globe. Serving as nature’s organic containers, gourds are strong, durable, lightweight and water resistant. The gourds require no complex manufacturing process, are nontoxic, and are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. Gourd art is the result of a combination of the artist’s perspective with the natural shape and texture of the gourd. The Gourd is embellished with painting, burning and carved designs into the hard surface. Our Peruvian decorated gourds are mostly burnt and carved.
